A Detour
This piece was the second of my portfolio and I titled it A Detour. This was made at a time where I had started to understand the medium a bit more and got a bit more ambitious with the reflection. I titled it as such because at the time of drawing I was sort of in a funk. I wanted to do something that was familiar to me as it would bring me peace instead of further stressing myself out by trying something new. The feeling I associate with this piece is one of relief. I am glad that this period is over because I remember the personal struggles during this time. Although there are negative times associated with this piece, I can admit that this “detour” of mine was necessary and I am glad I was able to get through it and move on to from it.
