The creation of my first portfolio resonates with me because of the journey I went through in the process. It marks the first time I wanted to pursue art in a more serious manner. It is titled A Novice’s Journey because of how personal it is to me. I am the novice in this case and the journey is mine to take. The process of creating the whole portfolio was only a couple of months, but the things I learned will stay with me for a lifetime. Although the journey with my first portfolio has ended, new journeys will begin, and I hope to learn and improve vastly from them.

This portfolio has taught me to have confidence in the work that I produce. I realized that you have to stand behind the work you create because you cannot expect others to support you if you don’t first support yourself. Coming to the end is almost a relief because while I did enjoy the experience, I am glad to move on and try new things.

I will continue to strive for growth as I go on new adventures. Trying out different media that I am unfamiliar with is an exciting prospect and I hope to learn and pick up many skills along the way.
